DancingKiwi123 answered Sunday July 3 2005, 7:39 pm: if you want self tanner neutragena is good from what i've heard. otherwise just lay outside and get a natural tan but if you don't have time for either or you just don't want to do either of those go to a tanning bed or get a spray tan done professionally. askmex3 answered Sunday July 3 2005, 4:47 pm: id recommend spray on tans or lotions with a tanning affect..my aunt just got melonoma (skin cancer) and trust me its not fun, even if it clears up theres only a 63% chance she'll live..so always put on suntan lotion and avoid the tanning beds because they're just as bad if not worse..however spray tans from the drug store or professional spray tans are great!! hope this helps &hearts [ askmex3's advice column | Ask askmex3 A Question ]
blondebaby1016 answered Sunday July 3 2005, 4:14 pm: The cheapest, most natural, and gauranteed to work way to tan, is the sun. It won't make you orange, stain your hands, and most of all..its free =). To gradually build up a tan lay out for about an hour right in the sun. For 30 minutes, lay on your back, then rotate. Or whatever, but that way you'll get an even tan. Believe it or not, you can STILL get somewhat color on cloudy days, just not as direct and hot. And supposedly if you use tanning oil, it'll help you tan better but I dont use it so I have no idea
I know pretty much nothing about tanning lotions, I mean, I don't use them personally, however I've tried like a little bit and it didnt even show up but I dunno. haha.
OR, the safest way to tan is using a bronzer make up. I don't use them but try reading in a summer issue of cosmo girl, teen vogue, or teen magazines in general and they almost ALWAYS have ways with make up to give you a 'sunkissed look'
And last but not least, the tanning bed, which I like to refer to as the cancer coffin. I have no idea what the craze is over them. I think over time going to the tanning booth alot would get a bit expensive but I have no idea, I just tan outside. haha.

Ignorance_Combatant answered Sunday July 3 2005, 12:58 pm: If you're too lazy to lay out or go to a tanning bed, get some "Tan in a Can" or "Instant Tan" stuff from Wal*Mart, Target, Walgreens etc. Though, those things are said to make your hands orange or mess up easily. I have a friend who tried it and she looked like she rolled in some red mud for a few weeks. (seriously) So be careful with it. Or you could go to a tanning bed, or the old-fashioned way, laying out. Though it also seems that if you're outside in the sun (obviously) havin' fun, playin' around, or doing chores, you'll also get tanned. Hmm.. so weird.
