friend likes me?

Question Posted Thursday June 16 2005, 8:28 pm

ok my BEST guy friend might like me. i'm not sure if he does because his close friend-who is also my close friend-says that he probably does like me.
the reason i don't think he does or that i'm like, pessimistic about it is because we are like, so close as friends that i don't think that we would be anything different.
but the reason why i think he might is because: 1) his/my friend thinks so 2) he called me randomly just to talk (and he usually doesn't do that) 3) he said (while on the phone) 'oh i see ------- (his friend) he's gonna ask me who i'm on the phone with and i'm gonna say a hot girl...cuz its true.' 4) after he said this (and he said it like--seriously) i was like oh i'm sure (me=no self esteem...so i DON'T take compliments well) and he was like 'i love you' and i didn't hear him so i was like what? and he was like 'i love you!'
can you tell me what he might be thinking or feeling...thanx in advance
p.s. sorry for the length

Additional info, added Sunday June 19 2005, 8:04 pm:
last night when i was talking to him online he was like "peace <33333333333333333" and he NEVER says "<333" or anything like that, usually just peace out or something. so i just said "<333 night"...(i guess that would be #5)
also--so far he's called me 3 days in a row...not for any particular reason, just to talk...
and also he said 'i'm out peace-call my cell later'
any more opinions?

Hahaha.. that was cute. I liked youR last line.. "(i guess that would be #5)" -- that's soooo daRling.

But uhm, HEY... best fRiends make the best loveRs. Think about THAT one. ;D

And fRom what *I* know on the situation, it DOES seem like he's inteRested. He's acting diffeRent towaRds you [which is always a sign of something being up], but it's a "positive" diffeRence, so to speak. He's showing moRe affection, tRying to become closeR, so it obviously seems like he likes you. Why don't you tRy asking him to a movie; just the two of you. PeRhaps he'll be bold and Reach foR youR hand. OR, if you like him too, YOU could Reach foR HIS hand, oR simply lay youR head on his chest. Now based on his Recent behavioR changes.. do you think he'll mind?? Of couRse not!!! :D He'll be thRilled!!! If you feel youRself gRowing attached to him, definitely let him know. And if you just CAN'T do it by coming stRaight out and SAY it.. then say it with little things... do the little things diffeRently to let him know that you caRe, but just neveR do anything that makes you uncomfoRtable. Goodluck!! Hope this helped!! :)

I think you need to talk to him. You should be best friends with your boyfriend so why not? Ask him how he feels...if you feel the same give it a try. If it feels like your smooching you're brother then go back to friendship only. :)

He is definitly into you. From one pessimist to another, there is no real evidence that he doesn't. Just cuz you guys r rly tight doesn't mean he doesnt like you as a gf, in fact, you being his best friend thats a girl probably made him like you. In fact, my best friend just started going out with her best guy friend who she's known forever, but she didn't think he liked her like that, but he did. And he said he loved you, and didnt sound like he was joking. And he thinks your hot, which means he likes you.

people r friends with people from the opposite sex to become their boyfriend/girlfriend. he probably does like you! those r the tell tale signs! if he asks you out nd you say no, i doubt it will effect the relationship. if you say yes, then brake up w/ him, it mite effect it for like a weeek or so. it does hurt real bad when you brake up, so b aware of that. TRUST ME IT HURTS BAAAAAADDDD!! like hell!

Yeah, he probably likes you. If a guy flirts so outrageously, he usually likes you.

...But as I AWLAYS say (it's a lil old now, but it's true) NEVER assume a guy likes you unless he tells you. Directly. Even if your 99.9999% sure. You might spill the beans to a friend, and she'll tell someone else, and gossip gets around FAST and he might be embarassed. So just be on your guard.

Hope I helped :)
