Alright, based on what I have learned first hand from past friend's experience there are several methods to get tested for STD's. The most standard test is blood test. But this test does not cover all STD's. It mostly depends on what STD you think you have contracted. With Chlamydia, Genital Warts, and Gonorrhea a test is taken from the affected area or a urine sample is taken. HIV, Syphilis, and Herpes all are taken through a blood test. For any other female STD, a Pap Smear is usually given to determine which STD you have contracted. There is a standard fee in getting tested for an STD. Based on what STD you are being tested for the cost usually ranges from $10 to as high as $90. I don't suggest going to your regular doctor about the testing because your doctor has the right to notify your parents of your sexual testings. I suggest you go to a Planned Parenthood or Teen Pregnancy Center in your local area. These places guarantee privacy, but call in before-hand to find our their private policy, how much the STD testing will cost, and what sort of identification will be needed (social security number, driver's liscence... etc). I hope this advice helps you.

no your parents dont have to know, go to planned parenthood and you can most likely get it done for free. as for how long it takes i guess it would really depends on the STD but i would assume 2-3 hours
