That is army time. Army time keeps track of the hours in a day.
1:00 AM= 01:00
and it get's easy until you get to 1:00pm
1:00 PM=13:00
2:00 Pm=14:00 etc.

Hope I helped!

8 am.
when it gets over 1200, then just subtract twelve from it
thirteen hundred=1 pm....etc.

That means 8:00 AM. It's 24 hour time. So somthing like fourteen hundred hours would be 2:00 PM.

Solaris answered Friday May 27 2005, 6:55 pm:
19 minus 12 = 7pm Subtract 12 from that number starting at 13. If before 13 like "o eight hundred hours" then it is that time am.

vermillion26 answered Friday May 27 2005, 6:10 pm:
we use a 24 hour clock. so when most people tell you a time, its am or pm. this is just another way of telling time, 0800 means eight am its just the regular clock numbers until noon (1200) then its goes into 1300 (1pm), 1400 (2pm), 1500 (3pm), etc. military outfits use this method of telling time and some people use it to avoid confusion. hope i helped.

They are refering to military time. Any time in the morning is the same. "oh nine hundred" is 0900, 9:00 AM. The hours don't start over at one after noon. You'd normally go 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM. Military time goes 1100, 1200, 1300... all the way to 2400. Hope that helps.

craazylau answered Friday May 27 2005, 5:47 pm:
If someone says something like that try and visualise how it would be written out in number format- so if someone says oh eight hundred they mean 0800 so thats 8 o'clock. And nineteen hundred would be 1900 or 19 o'clock. This is 24 hour clock so you minus 12 from 19 so thats 7 so nineteen hundred hours is 7pm. And if you understand all that I'll be impressed!!!!

Karen answered Friday May 27 2005, 5:40 pm:
They are referring to the 24 hour times or the 'military time' and not the usual 12 hours, since they go by 13:00 instead of 1:00, for example. Oh eight hundred is the same as 8:00 AM and nineteen hundred is the same as 7:00 PM. It's sort of confusing to explain.
