You probably have more than one open pore, you just have one that is more open than others. After you wash your face, put a cold damp cloth on your face and that will help close up the pores. Your skin "changes" every twenty-eight days, so you wont see true results until then, but if you don't put a cold rag on your face now, there wont be any results to see.
Cold water closes pores; hot water opens them. Before you wash your face, place a hot damp rag on your face for about two minutes (at least). Then wash your face as usual. Once you've done that, place a cold damp rag on your face for about 3-4 minutes to close the open pores up. If you leave your pores open, it is easier for them to get dirt and oil in them again - thus causing more acne to "pop up".

Michele answered Thursday May 26 2005, 3:25 pm: DO you have just one open pore, or lots of open pores? Cold cloth would do better than hot. Hot OPENS pore. COLD closes them. Witch Hazel is a very inexpensive toner that can minimize pores and freshen skin. That is the cheapest way to go. The best, (cost about $30.00) is Manual Microdermbrasion Cream. L'Oreal makes one, so does Mary Kay, Clinique. If you use that regularly, it will minimize your pores over time. Your skin changes every 28 days. do not expect to see results from anything you use until four weeks have passsed.

Putting a cold, wet rag will close up your pores, after you wash your face. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]

FrEe2bMe answered Thursday May 26 2005, 2:06 pm: A damp, hot rag basically opens your pours and helps make it easier to remove dirt, blackheads, white heads, dead skin (exfoliate), and any other "stuff" that may be on your face/skin. The heat enables the pours to open. And no, an open pour does not usually stay there for ever, a cold wash cloth will reverse the process and close it up. Or just in time it will close. While it is open though, try getting any bacteria or anything that may be in it out. :) [ FrEe2bMe's advice column | Ask FrEe2bMe A Question ]
