fragileivory answered Sunday May 22 2005, 1:08 pm: Well, what teenage girl isn't insecure about something on their body? Your thighs probably aren't big at all -- I don't know you, but I'm willing to bet if I saw you I wouldn't think they were. Most girls I know do hate their thighs and think they're "huge", so don't worry about them.
For the stretchmarks, this is also something most girls get. When you're growing and going through puberty, they show up. Guys get them too while building muscle. They usually fade over time. Most of mine did. If they're dark they'll fade and pretty much disappear. If they're white, you'll have a much harder time getting rid of them.
The first thing I reccomend is putting on some sun screen and going outside and getting some sun. For whatever reason, the sun helps and with a little color on your skin, it's less noticeable. Look around in your mom's cabinets in the bathroom when you get the chance.
She probably will have something that will help with them. Look for cocoa butter, shea butter, or vitamin D or E in lotions your mother may have. Also, cocoa butter isn't that expensive and very effective. You could ask her to buy you some, if she doesn't have any. It's worth a shot. Michele answered Sunday May 22 2005, 10:36 am: Well, you may have to wait until you are old enough to buy the cream yourself. I will say this, the cream that works on stretch marks is strivectin, and it IS expensive. But I like to read ingredients. And then I find the "active ingredients" in other products that cost less money. Now the special ingredients in STrivectin that help to alleviate stretch marks and wrinkles are Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 AND Palmitoyl Oligopeptide. Now, these creams are not PATENTED so any company can make up their own version of it, and give it a name. I am a single mom and have two boys to raise, so I am always looking to save money. Here in CT, we have a drug store called CVS, they came up with their own product line called PreVEntin-AT. It is for lines and wrinkles, but will work on stretch marks too. IT costs about $25.00 for six ounces, compared to STrivectin which costs $130.00 per one ounce. Here is what you do. Preventin AT also REALLY REALLY works on Wrinkles and lines. Tell you mom to get some for her wrinkles (if she doesn't have any great, if she uses it each day, she never will) and get some for you for your stretch marks. Your mom will thank you for it.
Don't look for miracles. You'll will need to use the cream for a couple of months before you see a difference.
