My 14t birthday is May 12 and I want to have some sort of party. My mom thinks i'm too old but all of my friends tell me my parties are awesome and keep asking me if i'm having one this year. I want to maybe just have some friends over not have a huge party. First I need to know how to get my mom to let me have a "party" and then I need ideas for things to do.

I know it sounds corney, but make a powerpoint presentation and include all of the important details such as times, things you will do, and people you are inviting. Explain exactly what you will be doing at the party and the more details the better. When your parents are in a goo dmood and they arent busy, Tell them you have a presentation for them. Bring them into the room and close the door so it is just you and your parents and its quiet. Now present your presentation and ask them if they have any questions. They will feel so much better knowing all of the information rather then just saying yes to "some party". [ sshelbyy's advice column | Ask sshelbyy A Question ]

Well since your mom doesn't really want you to have a big party just tell her that you want to hang out with some of your friends on your birthday. Just invite a couple friends to the movies or something. That would be fun. Or you could just have a couple of friends hang out at your house and just talk and eat. Or maybe you could have some friends sleep over. That's all I can think of for now.
