For eighth grade, I suggest something simple. Maybe just use a curling iron to put waves in it or a flat iron to make it straight. For my "8th grade dance" a couple of girls got their hair done extremely fancy and elegant and it ended up just looking stupid. You don't want to spend the whole dance worrying about how your hair looks. Go for simple, fun, and easy.

well i looked at the prom issue of seventeen and they have a whole section for hairstyles. i would go for all up in a nice (kinda J.lo) bun with a side part and lots of loop type things. <3

Here is one website that has a lot of good styles on it:

I've been to many formals and had many updos, but I have yet to find a really good website with lots of styles to choose from. The way I usually look for updos online is by going to google, typing in "prom hair" (because most people get updos that aren't too "old" for them from prom magazines and websites) and then I click on images. That's the only way I have found to see many different hair updos!! Good luck! I hope you find the perfect one!!

This is one way I did my hair once and it looked cute.

Put it half up and half down. Then all the hair that is left, try with a small curling iron to make large curls with in it. So the bottom layer of your hair has curls and the pony tail part is straight, or you can curl that also.
