Question Posted Monday April 25 2005, 6:39 am

i have never baby sat for kids before but my neighbour has asked me to help. I really want to do this but the baby is only about 11 months old and i've no idea what to do with it . I'm really scared that it might have a cot death, or that i might drop it. Any tips?

Dont baby sit.

Also, a baby is not an "it" You sick being. That "it" is a person under that diaper, you're just too stupid to realise that.

well i would be concerned if the baby was 6 months but at 11 months you should be ok. he or she should be crawling and you could hold them, pass a ball, watch tv, play with stuffed animals or lay them down for a nap. go on the red cross site, they should have some health precautions for babysitters there. <3

11 months is almost a year and the baby should be crawling so its not a tiny young baby.. just hold it when your sitting down and what not

Just play. 11 month olds like to play a lot. Other than changing the occassional really nasty diaper you should do okay! :)

just dont let the baby out of your sight, small childen have a habit of putting whatever they are nearest to into their mouths, so keep them away from small things. good luck!

i used to babysit really little kids .. just make sure you dont let it out of your sight and when you put it to sleep keep checking to see if his/her back is moving up and down [aka-breathing] and before they leave ask them questions like .. is the baby allergic to anything .. when should i give it a bottle.. how long do you put the bottle in the microwave [remember to check the heat of the bottle] and anything else you need to know .. i hope you also know how to change a diaper because youre gunna need to know how lol .. remember to hold the baby with two hands and if you are craddling it make sure you hold its head and prop it up a little .. im sure you will do fine and if it starts to cry either rock it or give it a pacifier or both .. hope i helped if you have any questions drop one in my box **

Calm down hun.. its really not that big of a deal to watch any child actually you'll most likely find it fun most young teenagers do.. Okay about holding a child isnt very hard and you probably dont have to hold this baby alot anyways cause its not a newborn this baby can probably walk or crawl so its not going to wanna be held.. much luv dez x0x0
