LostAngel answered Tuesday April 12 2005, 2:41 pm: I agree with assuager. A period isn't exactly a month, it's 28 days. If you are just starting out then yeah it can be late, because your body is just starting out it has to get on a track of it all and your body growing, which means it can be early or it can be late. If you just recently just had sex then you may be pregent if you don't get your period within a couple of days.

Sometimes they are regular for a while then suddenly there is a long gap until you get your next one. You might get it for this month, you might not, it's impossible to tell. Some women's periods never even out and stay irregular but the likely hood is that yours will become more regular as you get older. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
bry answered Tuesday April 12 2005, 12:32 pm: Periods often have a cycle of their own, from approx 26 to 35 days between each.
Unless you think you are pregnant in which case you should visit your doctor, I would suggest that you make a note of the day that each one starts and see if they have their own pattern.
You might also look for a book in your library/bookshop which explains the body and the way it works, a proper information book. [ bry's advice column | Ask bry A Question ]
