i think its because your skin gets dry in the winter. do you play a sport. i have it too on the backs on my ankels, because the sweat gets trapped in my shin gaurds, because i play soccer. i went ot the doctor and he perscribed me this stuff called ELIDEL.. go to the doctor and talk to him/her about it, and ask him if ELIDEL would be good for you.. it works good too

Try Eucerin calming creme and there is a calming spray that goes with it. it works well since my doctor recommended it for me before. xoxo peachgirly

My friend has Eczema and her hands get really bad. She can't use any lotions because it stings her hands, since she has open cuts when she gets this during the cold weather. Since it's winter, the air is dry and such so this just causes you to get it now. Try using vaseline or Vitamin E cream, which you can get over the counter. Or you can get something prescribed which would help out more.

Look into natural remedies, be a detective to your own body. Try External application of oils such as Evening Primrose, Vitamin E or Jojoba can be effective. To norish the skin, add oatmeal to bath water and use oatmeal soap. taking Vitamin B6 can sometimes heal dry flaky skin.

Ick, I have eczema too.
The two things I know of that work might be prescription, but here they are:
Elidel works for some people, not sure if it's over the counter or not. Didn't work for me, wasn't strong enough.
Protopic is another eczema cream - well, ointment, really, I think. Might not be, though. You can check. It's very good, that's what I use, and my eczema gets so bad my fingers crack and bleed. It's a nuissance.
Cutivate and Desowin (sp?) are also eczema things, but I know for sure that those are prescription. I've been dealing with this for awhile, too. I send my sympathies, eczema sucks.
I hope this helps!
