Microphone
I just got a new Gateway lap top that I'm on right now. I can't find the place where you plug in the microphone so you can talk on AIM and use the sound recorder. Can anyone please help me?

there is a piece for your lap top that you can buy at a store where you conect the mic in to it and conect the other end to the computer i think!! thats what is on my friend lap top

This really doesn't help much but if you look in the manual it will show a graph of the computer and lines pointing to what everything is try that and if that doesn't work try going to ♥ [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) ♥ and see if it shows it on there.

For new laptops, you don't need to plug anything in for a mircrophone because there's one already on your laptop. If your mircrophone has a USB cord, then you just need to plug it into the USB port, which is somewhere on your laptop.

Many new computers have a microphone built into the top of the screen (it's just a little hole). That may be why you can't find the hole plug, because there is no need for one.

It could of come installed in the monitor. If not and it probably isnt. See if its a USB mic. If so just plug it into a USB port on your computer.
