MFS answered Wednesday March 23 2005, 9:34 pm: finding any sheet music online for free is hard - one, there is no way of displaying it other than using image files - there are some various music schema for making sheet music files, but none of them are open/free (at least that I know of, or that are used in the mainstream).
Sometimes, it is more worth your while to get guitar tablature and chord notation and transcribe the piano parts to various songs yourself (at least if playing in the pop/rock genre).
As far as free sheet music archives - you're pretty much out of luck - any site that would host such things would likely be in HUGE copyright trouble and be sued out of existence by rabid lawyers. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
