There really isn't much risk from cookies. For example: When you log in here, and you check the "remember me" box, it stores your login info in a cookie. There are sites that use cookies to see which of their sites you visit. There are some that are used to track your travels on the internet. I don't worry about it, because the bad ones are easily removed be using this free program called Adaware:

...it is a great program.

That will keep you safe if you use it.

at first i didnt know what they were but my mom said they were bad. when you get on the internet, if you have Tools at the top where it says like file and edit. the tools should have internet options. once you are there it says as one of the options, delete cookies. click it and it will delete all of your cookies. they must be bad if my mom wanted me to click that, my mom is a computer genius! i hope i helped!

Some of the cookies are for remembering login information, and if you delete them you get logged out... There are also tracking cookies which can be bad because they allow sites to get your information... Get Spybot S&D (which removes spy cookies but allows cookies that you actually need) from [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Karen answered Saturday March 12 2005, 6:15 pm:
No, they aren't bad at all. You should only delete ones that make a certain website load up really slow. If you have too many cookies in your computer, it will make your computer load up slow. It's alright to delete them once in a while but don't do it every so often.

well i know that too many of them can cause your computer to slow down and they could cause viruses. You should frequently delete them, at least i do. I delete all kinds...for all i know there are only one kind. To delete them, while you are on the internet, go to tools, then select internet options, and on that page there should be a 'delete cookies' button. i hope you can figure this out! leave one in the inbox for more help. x0
