lilshorty09 answered Sunday March 6 2005, 3:47 pm: when u push the bottom and the little squares that appear that arent bombs...usually they have numbers in them...when they have a number in them...that is the number of bombs touching that box. if it dosent have a number in it...it dosent have a bomb touching it. hope i've helped! :) please rate! shake answered Sunday March 6 2005, 11:43 am: If you get a number 1, that means 1 mine is connected to it. If you get a number 6, six mines are around it. You cant tell exactly where mines are but it will tell you how many are around. After a while you'll notice a pattern on how it works, then you'll get the game really easy. JJbaYbe answered Sunday March 6 2005, 9:47 am: thats the whole point, you dont know where the mines are! but when you click on a box, if theres a whole bunch of boxes that go away and only one left in the middle then that one is the mine. you always know where the mine is when theres only one box singled out that didnt disappear.hope i helped!
xxxxxx answered Sunday March 6 2005, 8:50 am: yes, when you click on a square and it shows a number, thats how many mines around in each square around that number. for example. if it says 3, then theres 3 mines in the surrounding squares thing. hope i helped! FunkyHoMoSapien answered Sunday March 6 2005, 8:24 am: seeing as i am a pro at the sport... i will try my best to explain it in a simple way. whenever u see a number, that means their are that many mines touching that number. so if you have a one out all by it's self, surrounded by the blocks should be eight, then one of those is a mine. if you can click away seven of the eight blocks without dieing the last block touching the number 1 is a mine (you might not want to try it that way as it is very hard to get that lucky, but consider it training). you tap that as a mine and it will be marked and set. now since you have a mine found any 1's that are touching that mine can't have any other mines touching them. so if any blocks are next to those 1's the are not mines. this might sound confusing but after practice you will get wat the objective is and learn wat you need to do. it's all about practice. Asc answered Sunday March 6 2005, 7:22 am: When you click on a square, the number it shows (if it doesn't kill you) indicates the number of mines adjacent to that square.
To play, I click around until it opens up an area, then expand on that. For example:
Where 1s are numbers, -s are unclicked squares, and os are blank clicked suqares:
oo-
11-
1--
---
You know that the - down and to the left of the upper-left one is a mine, because there are no other unclicked squares adjacent to that one. So you can click all the squares which are adjacent to the ones which are adjacent to the mine, and possibly get something that looks like this:
ooo
111
1-1
11-
or this:
ooo
111
1-2
12-
in which case you know that the lower right -is a mine because the numbers adjacent to both -s are twos.
There's a lot of tricks you can use to depermine where mines are, and eventually the hardest difficulty can be possible. However, in some situations it's not possible to know which square is a mine, so you've got to take a gamble. [ Asc's advice column | Ask Asc A Question ]
S_C answered Sunday March 6 2005, 7:16 am: When you click on the thing, it'll have a number, that's how many mines are near it. I usually just click around, or I'll do it where there are 100 mines, and I'll have the biggest screen possible.. I've actually won before. It's a hard game until you realize what you're doing. Just like, when you click on a box, either you lose, or a number pops up. That number is usually how many mines surround/or are near it. So if the number is one, you're still pretty safe, but if the number is like 3 or 4, then you might want to move to a different area. Sorry if this is confusing or not much help... good luck with the game ha ha. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
