If they are your friends only because you can skateboard..then how are they real friends? There are many important lessons to be learned in life..and one of them is showing people your not afraid to be who you are or worrying what people think. if your not a good skater..then just tell them. Real friends wouldnt make a big deal over it. Instead ..they would offer to give you some pointers when you guys skate together. You cant worry about what they think..just tell the truth and if they make a big deal..they arent your friends and you shouldnt be hanging around them. Your in high school now..so there are plenty of kids to become friends with. The trick is to just be yourself and you'll be fine. You dont need a million friends (i dont) but a small cluster of really good friends is all you need. So by being yourself..you'll find other people with your interests and people who appreciate you for yourself. All that covering up took a lot of work..so im sure finding new friends will be no problem. If there is someone in class who you occasionally talk to..get to know them better. Ask for their number..see a movie..and you guys will hit it off! Also if your on any sports teams..or any kind of clubs..its a great opportunity to make friends as well. If you want more help on making friends.. or with this situation just write to me! i'll be happy to help. Hopefully your skater friends wil be fine with the fact that you cant skate. telling them will make you feel a lot better (like a weight has been lifted off your chest)
Hope i helped
