Question Posted Tuesday March 1 2005, 2:52 pm

My mom got married in October. I was ok with my new step-dad before they were married. Now i don't like him. He talkes too loud, sits around doing nothing all day, laughs at everything i say, and is so annoying. I reminded my mom that she promised never to marry anyone i didn't like. Now she broke my promise to me and i'm stuck with a new dad! i've talked about it with her, but it dosnt help. she keeps saying that he's "the right one". but he's not the right dad for me! How do i learn to like him?

hmmm... im sorry to say that you cant make her devorce him now. And im also sorry to say that you should've spoke up earlier. The good news is you may get used to him, and he may change. Try asking him if he could help out around the house a little more. Or lie, and say you have a headache and ask him to talk a little quieter. If he really loves your mom, he;ll want to get along with you. Even though some men arent always nice enough to do that. Tell him that now that he's here you'd like him to try to change, just like you've had to make some changes for him.

hope any of it helps hun :D
