KaYlA1213 answered Thursday February 10 2005, 8:56 pm: mono is an airborne sickness you can get from someone who has mono. for instance just talking to someone you can get it. you can also get it from the water fountain and kissing (that's why its called the kissing disease). it lasts anywhere from 10 days to like 3 months i think. Karen answered Thursday February 10 2005, 8:56 pm: Mono is an acute disease characterized by fever and swollen lymph nodes and an abnormal increase of mononuclear leucocytes or monocytes (white blood cells) in the bloodstream. It's contagious and you usually get it if you kiss someone, as some people think. Hope I helped :)
