EpMeg2010 answered Sunday February 6 2005, 7:55 pm: All places need some parental permission... Honesy you should go to your parents even just your mom and talk to her about it and maybe she can help you.. I think this is a good idea. You dont have to tell her you have even though you should but tell her your thinking about it... It acualy depends how old you are.... ?

hailebop answered Sunday February 6 2005, 2:50 pm: I'm British so unfamiliar with exactly how expensive things are in the US, but I recommend a trip to Planned Parenthood. Things are done on a sliding scale, the people will be sympathetic to your problems and its absolutely confidential so your parents don't need to find out. The doctors need to ask you some background questions such as whether you smoke and check your blood pressure, but that's about it. Usually they should give you several months prescription so that you can find if the particular brand you've been prescribed is well suited to you, and then you can get more pills once you've settled on to them. It is definitely worth going to Planned Parenthood. The Pill might seem expensive, but the cost is worth it to avoid the emotional and finacial cost of an unwanted pregnancy, which is likely to happen at some point if you continue to just pull out. specialk answered Sunday February 6 2005, 1:44 pm: Ok I have your answer. Get in the phone book and look up the nearest planned parenthood near you. Make an appt- you have to get the full exam before they can give you pills. When I did it last year, it cost about 90 dollars, BUT they are so good about letting you pay when you can. You can pay some then and pay some later and so on. It is VERY worth this because it is completly confidential and you're parents will never know. On the forms you fill out make sure you check the box that asks to have no mail from them so nothing comes to your house; and make sure you give them a cell number. Their birth control is about 20 dollars, maybe a little over.. but that beats the gyno who charges about 40-50. They'll give you refills if you ask and they tell you everything you need to know. Trust me, it's wonderful. please rate
crazyblonde0514 answered Sunday February 6 2005, 12:07 pm: Heyy first of all i think that that's great that you are being so resonsible!! But even if you are going to be on the pill, i still recommend using condoms, because birth control isn't 100% effective and you don't want to take any chances!! But anyways, I went through the same thing and I found a place called The Family Planning Center and it is a doctors office that you can get birth control w/o your parents consent and at little or no cost. I would look in your yellow pages and try to find something similar... look under Birth Control Services and see if anything comes up! The place that i went i got birth control for free. All they did was ask for a donation when i left and i gave them like 5 bucks. If you find a place to call just call them up and ask them if you can get it with out your parents and about how much it will cost. The only thing that sucks about it is that you will have to get a papsmear which isn't fun but it's worth being safe. If you have any more questions or want me to get a little more in depth then just leave one in my inbox!! Hope i could help and good luck!! : ) [ crazyblonde0514's advice column | Ask crazyblonde0514 A Question ]
Karen answered Sunday February 6 2005, 12:02 pm: Well it depends on the pill and how much you get. The price ranges from about $50.00 to a few hundred dollars. You usually get about 24-30 capsules and then you need to get more. I know for a fact that you can go to Planned Parenthood and you can get some without your parent's permission. You could also tell your mom that your period is irregular and that being put on the pill would regulate it. Hope I helped :)
