Question Posted Monday January 24 2005, 10:27 pm

i will dye my hair medium brown (my hair is naturally dark blonde) with an at home kit---at first it will look REALLY good...but the color fades in like 10 days!! it makes no sense..how do i get the color to stay? (i use color protectant shampoo). do i need to get it professionally foiled?

Well, first of all you probably already did this but on the box make sure it says permanent, and not temporary... and yes i definitely think you should go to the hair dresser to get it done, because even if you did a good job it is always so much better and it will last much longer

Maybe you should try to go and get it professionally done and see if it works out. Is your hair really thick? Maybe you would need more than 1 box. I know I do. Ask a professional about your hair.. and maybe they will have something for you hair. Hope i helped

I dye my hair using those home hair coloring kits also and that never happens to me. I think you should just get your hair professionally foiled so it will at least last longer. Hope I helped :)

If you're using a color-protectant shampoo, and a dye that is marked as permanent, you may just need it done by a pro.

I think you may have to get better dye. Or just go in and get your hair done and ask them what they think would be best for you to use so that way it doesnt fade-trix

I dont think its your shampoo... its just when you have blonde hair its kinda hard to dye over it kinda when you bleach your hair and then go to dye it and expect it stay... you just gotta keep redying it i guess... or you can try to go get it perfossinally done they can probably get it perfect so it lasts longer... sorry Im not the greatest help... rate me...

Getting it professionally foiled would be best. It last longer and comes out nicer. If you don't really want to pay so much to get your hair done at a salon, try looking around for better hair dying kits.
