SurpriseYourself answered Friday January 21 2005, 4:59 pm: does your new neighborhood have a newsletter or a website, you should send your name and info in to it so that you will be posted, also you can make sure that these people know you are good with kids mabey you can go out while their playing one day and talk to them a little play a game or teach them one the parents will feel more comfortable with you and youll be more likely to get a job [ SurpriseYourself's advice column | Ask SurpriseYourself A Question ]

If you see some parents outside, walk over to them and just be like "Hi, I just moved into this neighborhood not too long ago and I've noticed that you have a children. Do you mind if I could babysit them sometime if you ever needed to go out anywhere?" It's not that hard. Hope I helped :)
