to become a level 2 mod, you have to be promoted. to become a level 3 mod you have to be really good and most people cant become level 3 mods cuz theyre are only a few at a time. go here for more info. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

No--a paid account is not needed to be a level 2 or 3 moderator. To be a level 2 moderator, first you have to be a level 1 moderator. To be a level 1 moderator, these are the requirements: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) // To be a level 2, you must be a level 1 first. You have to be rating questions like crazy and they may promote you to level 2. But they only have 10 or so at a time, so you won't get to be a Level 2 mod for awhile. As for being a level 3, you will probably never be one. You have to be a level 2 first and be experienced and really good on this site. Hope that helped you. Next time you have a question like this, read the FAQ (( [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) )) ♥

No, you don't have to have a pre paid account. You get to be a level 2 moderator if you are already a level 1 and you are good at it etc. You get to be a level 3 if you are a really amazing columnist who is experienced and all that. The help section of this site can probably explain better.
