Hair growth

Question Posted Wednesday January 5 2005, 1:10 pm

I'm a black female, and my hair stops right at the back of my neck. I just started wrapping my hair before I go to sleep, my hair also really thick if that helps any, but what I want to know is, does anyones have any other suggestions as to how to make my hair grow? By next year, I want it shoulder lenght or else, I'm just going to cut it short into a pixie cut and keep like that. Thanks!

Well, my suggestion was going to be the braids because they really help and give your hair a break, but if they bother you too much then don't worry about it. Like other people have saide, trim the split ends because it helps to allow your hair to grow. Also, watch out about brushing your hair too much. Although the brush helps smooth the hair out, it breaks off your hair. Just continue to wash it and take care of it by conditioning it and washing it. Every month or so deep condition it by putting conditioner in your hair and then going under a heating cap for 10 minutes or a shower cap for a 1/2 hour to allow the hair's protein to be replenished. Healthy hair helps the hair grow a lot. All of this has helped my hair grow a lot. Also, be careful on what kind of relaxers you put in your hair. Sometimes they are too strong and cause your hair to break off. It is also good to replenish the nutrients in your hair by deep conditioning it right have you have your relaxer. It might take awhile for your hair to grow, but as long as you take care of it then it will be fine.

Hair growth is based on your diet. Vitamin B and C are important for good circulation, hair growth and hair color. If you ensure that you have enough vitamin B and C, you’ll have strong, supple strands of hair that do not split. You can get these vitamins from eating foods like fruit, vegetables, cereals, eggs, milk and bread. If this doesn't help then I recommend that you get hair extensions. I got the information on hair growth from a very useful website that is all about beauty tips and secrets. The website is www.free-beauty-tips.com Its a great site and has not only hair tips but everything else from skin care to makeup. Be sure to checkout the website also let me know if it helps! GL

Trim your hair every few weeks so you can cut the damaged hair! I hear not combing and playing with your hair will help your hair grow too! Try eating almonds because they will make your hair stronger (that's why it says almond extract in shampoos and conditioners)! Hope I helped :)

I dont really know how to make it grow faster but i do know that if you dont cut dead ends then it'll start breaking off even more which it will be hard for it to grow. So just cut them off and make sure you use healthy shampoo n conditioner!! Also you could get exstentions.. but that could be pricey!!-trix

My hair isn't that short but keepin it braided up and not combing on it constantly everyday will reduce the breakage. Try some individuals or micros..and remember to cut those split ends!
