If you ever do start a relationship with his friend, don't you think his friend would spend more time with you and instead of his friend, your brother? How would he feel about that? I would talk to your brother about it because if it bothers him you should just back off, becaue like you said, you and him have just started getting closer, and talking more. So I think it depends.
