plz dont delete this question i need answeres fast!! okay..today is wednesday and next wednesday im going to make an appointment to get highlights...but saturday im leaving to go to hawaii and i was wondering if i can swim with my new highlights and them not get discolored or faded?? i REALLY want to get highlights over christmas break and im busy everyday except wednesday..help!!
Briht_knee_89 answered Wednesday December 15 2004, 3:37 pm: well, if your going to get them done at a hair salon, and they're permanent then yup! they should stay in! that is so weird, i got my hair highlighted the week before i went to hawaii too, LoL. thats cool, and mine stayed in! so the chlorine in the pool might discolor them a lil bit if they're blonde but the ocean water shouldn't change or discolor your hair! have fun on vacation hunny! and Merry Christmas! x o *Brittany [ Briht_knee_89's advice column | Ask Briht_knee_89 A Question ]

But if you go in a pool or something (because of the chlorine), then they might get discolored a little bit. Have fun in Hawaii! :) [ aNgeLxfOrEvEr's advice column | Ask aNgeLxfOrEvEr A Question ]

They have products you can put in your hair to prevent from discoloration. Ask your stylist when you get your hair done about products to use to prevent the discoloring of your hair. I'm not sayin that they'll just come out in a snap they'll come out gradually. If you're doing them with a streaking pencil they'll come out when they have been in water for too long.So if you still want them in but a little faded then get it done.Happy Holidays!!!
