sick friend

Question Posted Friday July 18 2008, 7:00 am

I have a friend who has trouble with cutting. What should I do? I really want to help her, but I don't know how.

Talk to her about it. But honestly, as much as you probably wouldn't like to do this, get help, before the cutting goes too far. (suicide, etc). I myself am a recovering cutting addict, and let me tell you: if no one ever had gotten me any help, I'd most likely be dead right now. Talk to someone you trust-her parents, your parents, a doctor, anything. And here's some helpful websites.

Good luck, and keep her safe.

Well if you haven't already, you could try talking to her..explaining how terrible "cutting" actually is & how it could effect her in the future. But I really don't think that she'll fully understand unless an adult speaks to her about it. Try talking to your (or her) parents about it, and maybe they can get through to her. You could even pull up sites with information about cutting and have your friend read them. Many of these sites get really into dept about this problem, and i'm sure they'll have some effect on her.

Just don't leave your friend alone with this, she needs the help. Cutting is a serious thing!
Good luck and I really hope that i helped!

♥ Kristen

Hey, my name is Faith42 and I hope I can help!

I think you should try having a conversation with her. Than you friend will know that you really care
a lot about her. Tell, her to stop (or try to) stop
cutting, and if she don't at least try tell her that
you are going to tell a your parents , or talk to
the school counselor. If, it gets real bad you need to talk to someone , anyone a teacher, parent, or counselor. She might go to cut and cut
to deep. You know. :( :{ Just , make sure you talk
to her, she needs a good friend at this time.

I hope I helped,
Faith42:)
