Sweaty Armpits

Question Posted Wednesday December 1 2004, 4:35 pm

Yeah im 14 1/2 and I have had sweaty armpits for about 2 1/2 years now , and it still hasnt gotten any better! I have used almost every deoderant and anti-perspirant. i have also tried prescripted stuff. My mom thinks i sweat when im nervous. But that would mean i would be nervous everyday. I just got my period a couple of days ago too. Please Help Me!

Thanks,

your doctor sounds like crap...

okay well you have two choices you can either hide the sweat or stop it all together.

To stop the sweat there is a device called drionic or something- What it does is you use it a couple times a week and it stops you sweating- but sweating is actually good, just not too much of it. There are loads of things out on the market which you might like to try which are like a step up from anitperspirant. Stronger.

Then you could always hide it, which you might prefer- There are things you can wear under your clothes which hide it completly, Some of them are like extended bras others are just tight shirts. It all varies

But hey- don't sweat it, look around find something thats right for you

first off, congratulations on getting your period! Second, if you've tried prescription antiperspirants and they didn't work, you need to talk to your doctor about the fact that they didn't work. Certain Dri is good stuff but it's probably just a weaker version of whatever you got as a prescription.

I do think it's possible that your mom may be right and that the sweating may be a symptom of anxiety, since you say you don't sweat when you're being athletic. But you would probably want to talk to your doctor about that too.

You just need to get a better dedoerent. Keep it with you during the day if you need it. Dry Idea works pretty well for me, if you think it will help, you can combind deoderents too.
