Ok I think that I am fat, and I feel like I can't do anything about it. I have tried eating right and exercise and all of that but it doesn't work. I can't stop eating stuff, I work at Dairy Queen and I get a 50% discount on stuff and I always give in and eat there. I have stretch marks and I am going to have to shop at a "fat kid store" soon if this does not change. What should I do? What would motivate me to change this and how can I acquire the will power to change?
hollisterXOqtx3 answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 1:27 pm: i think that if you focus on what you really want you can change it. maybe start working out more and if worst comes to worst..change jobs. another thing is to not worry about having to shop at a "fat kid store" because sometimes they have cute clothes:) > hope i helped < *aLi [ hollisterXOqtx3's advice column | Ask hollisterXOqtx3 A Question ]
Lachiquitaloca9 answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 9:44 am: Sorry to hear about your problem. I don't know how I would work at Dairy Queen. I have a serious addiction to ice cream. Personally I wouldn't have enough will power to work at Dairy Queen and keep from eating ice cream. Some people say that you'd grow sick of it, not me. My advice, sadly and as also suggested by other people, would be to quit your job at Dairy Queen. Find a job that is a bit more active, even working at a clothing store or something like that. If you want to work at a food place, either work at healthy place, here in Florida we have places like Jamba Juice and stuff, good smoothies, but they're healthy as well. You're still young so you have a chance to improve a great deal. You just need to get started now. Once you get older your metabolism starts to slow down and losing weight is far more difficult and your skin loses its elasticity and so its harder to look good. :) Oh and if you love ice cream like me, there are tons of new low carbs, sugar free ice creams/yogurts that taste the same. I hate diet foods and fake sugars and stuff because some of them cause cancer, but in the past 10 years or so they have started to make some great tasting and surprisingly healthy substitutes. Just stay away from Nutrisweet...its horrible for you and causes cancer. Good luck!!! Hope I was of some help. Take care. [ Lachiquitaloca9's advice column | Ask Lachiquitaloca9 A Question ]
xaDvIcERsAiRx answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 7:54 am: you just have to start eating healthier; and maybe excercising a little bit each day, go to the gym.
start eating vegetables more; for dinner, have five different colors on your plate ( green, red, orange, yellow(non-artificial).)
say, if you eat healthy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, give yourself a treat for dessert.
(try working at a non-food related store!)

good luck!

Tauny answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 12:34 am: I know this will sound hard but you need to resist the vert fatty foods like all the sweets there. your just going to ahve to slowly start eating less. its hard but you can do it, you just need to believe you can do it. i used to be the same way and it was hard at first but i did a step at a time and everything is ok now. just take it step by step and you'll slowly start eating right and you'll beome more active and your body will tone down. It wont happen all in one night have Patience. [ Tauny's advice column | Ask Tauny A Question ]
