orphans answered Wednesday October 13 2004, 4:28 pm: Owwie. Okay, well, that sounds like... a first degree burn. There is obviously pain and redness, and there has also been damage done to the outer layers of the epidermis, which is the outer, thinner layer of skin, as opposed to the dermis which gets damaged or destroyed due to second and third degree burns, respectively. Skin, luckily, is made of tissue that quickly repairs itself through mitosis (cell division, ie the forming of new cells). So... it's sorta like when you get a cut and it scabs over but then eventually heals to be new skin. It takes a couple of weeks, but you should be just fine. You can put some ice on it and if you're really concerned, go see a doctor. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

Mercy_x_Me answered Tuesday October 12 2004, 7:57 pm: usually burns heal best over time. Something you can do to make the process faster and less painful is keeping ice on it any spare time you have during the day. It may hurt a little what with the rele cold temperature but it will definetly help. gl [ Mercy_x_Me's advice column | Ask Mercy_x_Me A Question ]

FrEe2bMe answered Tuesday October 12 2004, 6:48 pm: Hey, well, you PROBABLY aren't going to get rid of it in a day because burns usually take longer than that. But what you could do is: Put alovera (straight from the plant/gel form (found at drugstores) or the lotion form to help soothe the burn. Then put Neosporin on it. And if it seems like it's going to leave an ULTRA DUTY scar/mark get some MEderma. It's about 10 bucks for a lil' tube but it works wonders. It takes ANY SCAR AWAY or at least redices it to not even visible. Feel better. :) [ FrEe2bMe's advice column | Ask FrEe2bMe A Question ]
xXxpinky615xXx answered Tuesday October 12 2004, 6:47 pm: Well, it might turn into a blister. What you should do is put neosporin on it and a bandaid but whatever you do, if it turns into a blister DO NOT POP IT! Also, get liquid vitimin E and put it on the scar. It should minimize the appearance of it. Hope this helped. [ xXxpinky615xXx's advice column | Ask xXxpinky615xXx A Question ]
