contacts

Question Posted Sunday October 3 2004, 7:29 pm

Ok, I'm getting contacts really soon. The problem is, I have this little fear of things going in my eye. I have practiced so many times trying to put them in, but I always subconciously close my eye and I can never get them in all the way. What am I supposed to do to get over this? I really want to wear these contacts, but I'm so scared putting them in!

I got contacts two years ago because I like the idea of changing my eye colour...And I was soooooooo scared to put things into my eye, I think everyone is at first. But the lady at the store wouldnt let me leave until I learned how to put them in myself. So before you try to put it in, just think "it doesnt hurt at all". Keep looking straight ahead and put them just above your lower lids, then look down and they just automatically place themselves in your eyes...try it!

first off, before you try, really think of all the advantages. No big fat glasses in the way -- pretty outlook... etc.

now after this encouragement you gotta try. Practice on a night where your not busy ((like you have 2 hours free to just do anything)) read the directions, and stare at the ceiling. Maybe this isnt bad but practice putting on Mascara, if you can get that close to your eye putting in a contact is closer yea, but still!!!! GL!!!

ok i think i can help. i wear contacts and i had the same problem. whenever you are putting them in try to keep your eye open as long as it takes you to get it in and when you get it in what i do is rub the contact around in your eye in little circles and then center it in the middle of your eye. just keep practicing if you dont get it try again. try to keep your head as still as possible. if you still cant get it get your mom to help you. sorry if i didnt help. i tried my best.

i understand your problem, i too wear contacts and i had the same problem, the best way to overcome your fear is to get a guy to stick his penis in your eye.......... problem solved!!!!

BlackAngel answered Sunday October 3 2004, 8:19 pm:
Hey, no worries. I was the same way when I first got mine! It does pass, I promise. For about a week, I actually had my mom put them in for me, but the trick to that is holding your head still! If you have someone put them in your eyes for you, no matter how much you want to, you HAVE to keep your head still, and let them put the contact in. If it helps, and try both, try looking right at the contact as they/you try to put it in or when they're doing it, look at their face instead of the contact.
Best of luck, and contacts are super nice!

Lol, I have the same problem. Well I did. Just go for it. It's definitely going to be scary, and the scariest part is just putting it in there. It depends what brand you have. If you have Tru-Clear or Freshlook then stick to your eye really fast if you just put them right, they suction just right then and there, but sometimes it takes like the 2nd or 3rd try to get em in. Now that I have contacts I'm not afraid to even put eyedrops in by myself. Its cool. But good luck.. If you have any questions, jus drop something in my box, I'll help you if u need any help.. or im me (NaInErZzZ) good luck neways!
