Club for Left Handed People

Question Posted Friday October 1 2004, 7:42 pm

I recently started a club at my school for left handed people and I'm having trouble coming up with things to do. Any suggestions?

Haha.... that's clever... I like that. I don't know if there's anything you really need to do--don't take yourselves seriously, for one thing. How about making posters and tacking them up around the school? They can say things like "How Far Left Can You Get?" and "Left-Handed People Are In Their Right Minds" and "Swing Left!" and etc... be mysterious... like guerilla left-handedness!
Attack the school with bursts of lefthandedness!

In a more laid back mood, just watch movies and hang out together and go out to eat and notice happily that nobody's bumping elbows with those right-handed assbumps who always manage to sit on your left.
(yeah, I'm one of those--my boyfriend is lefthanded--we had to work this out a while back)

dear club for left handend people...

personally, i think you should make a special school newspaper thats called, Lefties in the News, or something. It can be all about some things just going on around school or maybe just some things going on arount the world, (like the presedential stuff.) Maybe you can even get your principal into it, you can ask her if you can use the school copier to make copies of your paper, she can also tell you things comeing up in the school year that is new to people.

just an idea, hope i helped...

You could have everyone write their name with their right hand and see whose looks the best. Or you could have them try to pick up random, heavy things with their right hand and try to lug them. o.o Heh, don't know where that came from. But you could look up sign language that is only done with one hand and have them do that with their left hand.

* write backwards
* create a list of famous and/or historic lefties
* go fencing
* make a list of tools that are geared towards right-handed people and try to find info on alternate tools that are either keyed for either hand or specifically for lefties
* beat up random right-handed people
* discuss the differences between the "average" left handed and right handed person
* left-handed shadow-puppet theater!
