I hope i helped.

Or better yet go to a movie, see a play, have dinner together. Keep this at a once a week schedule so that you can know your family, and spend quality time with them without getting 'too close'.

How about, planning time with friends, and time with family. Your family dosn't like to feel left out, spend some time with them
I;m sure your friends will be understanding, if they ask you to do something saturday, be like, Sorry, i'm busy, Or something like that. Like spend the day with your family every other saturday.
