Hey! I did mine by myself ( well my stepdad did it) so i guess I could answer your question. I went to walmart and bought a piercing gun and the after care solution. before I pierced it, I cleaned my cartilage really good with alcohol on both sides, put a little dot to tell me where to pierce, took the gun out of the package, cleaned that with alcohol too ( just to be safe) and my stepdad just pierced it right on the dot :)

umm, i dont have any experience doing that but all i know is that you could really do permanent damage to your ear if you do it wrong. going to a pro is really the right thing to do.

Seriously. If you're going to mangle part of your body that way, which will hurt like a bitch every time you sleep on your side, let a professional do it! Letting a professional do it means it won't get infected, crooked, OR hideous. Plus if you do it wrong, you'll have a bitch of a time getting it re-done the right way.

I wouldn't do it yourself cuz I got mine professionly done about 1 year and a half ago and it was infected for like a year and a quarter just recently has it not been infected.
