SmallTownChick answered Tuesday December 21 2004, 10:23 pm: I've been playing fast pitch softball for 6 or 7 years. Work on fundementals(throwing, fielding grounders & popflies, batting). Work on seeing the ball when the pitch goes by, and timing. Something else you could work on(it sounds kinda silly) but baserunning. Get the timing off the pitcher, and work on sliding. Another way to help is to get a friend that has had some experience to meet with you 1 on 1 and help you!

icey0990 answered Monday September 13 2004, 9:35 pm: I love softball, its the greatest. Its good you`ve been practicing a lot, keep it up!
When i first started...
-i played catch a lot with my dad and my friend who was just starting as well. We`d throw grounders, pop ups, etc to each other and it really helped. If you have an uncle, dad, anyone who can play catch or something, thats a big plus.
-my dad an i went to the field a lot and he would hit me ground balls and i would practice making my throws.
As far as pitching :
-im a pitcher also and i practiced practiced practiced. Once your consistent with getting the ball in the strike zone, you can work on speed. My dad and a couple coaches worked on my pitching and i owe all my thanks to them
Im also going to go to pro prospects..which is a place near me where instructors can help me on my pitching. Working with pitchers who are experienced always helps. One of my friends whos a varsity pitcher worked with me and it really payed off.
The biggest thing is to keep positive and keep practicing..ur gona be great!
