okay, I am an advice columnist here and a lot of what I run into was this fake persona of enviromentalists and people concerned with hate in the world. Why is this instantly called a pot-smoking hippi? I do not understand why anyone could say that about people they have never met. This is really negative and completly unhelpful and also unrealistic considering that we are only a little way off from global warming and multiple lung problems do to our air quality. This has really been bugging me. I don't expect everyone to agree to want to change the world but why cant they atleast show respect for others concerns?

Stereotypes will probably always exist in some form of another, about all kinds of people and groups - think of the stereotypes associated with feminists, politicians, gay people, etc., to name but a few. All you can do is challenge those stereotypes by showing that a movement and/or idea is not defined by a caricature. The more that people like yourself show the world through actions and logical reasoning that environmentalism cannot be reduced (and dismissed as a result of) an image of a 'pot-smoking hippie', just as politics cannot be reduced to the image of a sleazy man in a suit, the less the stereotype will matter. The less you concentrate on images and stereotypes, the less your target audience will too. Good luck. ]
Well if we didn't have global warming we would be in a really big ice age right now. Global warming is NOT that big of an issue. Start digging your underground cave now if you're so worried about it. There's still a lot of underground places to hide seeing on how not that many people are worried about it. ]
Some people jump to conclusions and stereotypes really easily. This really pisses me off too, but you really can't do much to change it, except make your own opinions known. Maybe some people will start realizing what they've been doing once they read this post. ]
