I just had a 14g in my ear...and i gauged it to a 12.&& im loooking for a 4/5 Seriously...if you skip gauges...your ear will have a blowout...and those arent fun. be patient...wait at least a month before gauging it again.

ive heard..that u need to slowly progress..idk how they run ((im not into that)) go from 14 to 13..or w/e comes next..do it slowly! cuz if you do it too fast it will hurt SOO badly, bleed and possibly get infected because its not use to it. My friend it took about 3 months to go from 14-6..he waited about a week for each..until he reached where he wanted it!

Stretch them a size at a time, and wait 4 weeks between going to the next size.

My friend did hers on her own, shes up to a 2 now... she said it hurts alos... go to a place where they do it because she said they will probably make it hurt less... and I think it would hurt like hell if you gauged your cartilage...

Well, the proper way to do it is to go to a piercing shop nearby and buy tapers with which to help you gauge them. They should only be done a size at a time, but some people have no problem gauging a 14 to a 10 in one shot. This really depends on if this is on a more, or less stretchy area of your earlobe. You should be buying plugs of different sizes and as I understand it, wait a few weeks between stretches, the stretching should be gradual. If there is a lot of irritation/bleeding etc then you should slow down with the stretching.

If you're really impaitent, go to a reputable piercing shop and ask to get your ears scalpled. This sirt of splits and cuts your lobe all in one shot to the size desired. I've never done this, it looks rather painful. I honestly have little advice about stretching cartilage, but If I happen to find something I'll add it here.
