orientation

Question Posted Wednesday August 18 2004, 9:59 pm

im a freshman going into catholic highschool. we normally have to wear uniforms, but we have orientation on sept 1 and we can wear our own clothes. they said they have to be "dressy/casual" yet approriate, like no skin showing and whatnot. does dressy/casual mean that you should wear nice pants, or can you wear jeans? and im into REALLY standing out, i like wearing stripes, polka dots, bold bright colors, jewelry, bows... what do you think i should wear on that day... without being "inappropriate"?

Anything from Gap, Banana Repbublic, or JCrew would be perfect.

What would you wear in front of your grandpa? If you wouldn't wear it on front of him, don't wear it to school.

you can wear jeans and a polka-dotted Tshirt if you want. Casual means every day clothes but dont go there wearing a marilyn manson shirt all chopped up into a belly shirt or something. That'd be odd.

Dressy/Casual is not jeans! Sorry hun! You should wear a skirt, black pants, or khakis. If you wear a skirt, i'd assume it would have to be knee length. Wear a nice, flattering top. If you wear the black or khaki pants, go strips or polka dots. You can wear jewlery, juss dont wear a lot of something thats gaudy. Uniforms are awesome though, they are flattering on every body shape, and u wont have to worry about buying clothes and ur popularity status depending on your clothes. I wish we had uniforms at my school. Good Lucky at your new school!

Dressy/casual basically means comb your hair and don't wear pajamas. A nice pair of jeans without holes and a top that covers everything is fine. Bright colors and jewelry should be fine too, just don't overdo it since it is a catholic school.
