It looks like my mother is finally lettig me get my nose pierced for my 16th birtday in a few months. My birthday is in October, and I could get it done around then, or I could wait until Christmas break. What I want to know is...does anyone know any specifics about it? Like...does it swell up? How long does it take to not look like you "just got it done". Because I don't want to go to school having a strawberry for a nose. Please don't resond to this, if you have no idea what you're talking about, thanks ;)

If u go to a piercing place they are probably gonna pierce ur nose wit a needle... i got mine done from a Pakistani Jewelry store & they pierced my nose wit a gun... so if u rather get it done with a gun try to find sum Pakistani or Indian Jewelry stores... because sum do piercings... if u feel comfortable doing it around Christmas break than wait... but the sooner u get it done... the sooner... it'll heal... the sooner u can enjoy it:) [ SoNuLiCiOuSsS's advice column | Ask SoNuLiCiOuSsS A Question ]

LilMia811 answered Friday August 6 2004, 12:06 am: Okay well sometimes it can swell up. But some people, like me, get it done and it doesnt even stay red the next day. The day after i got mine done, it looked like i had it for years. but usually it takes like 1 week for it to fully heal. just make sure you clean it, i think peroxide works best. Use a q'tip to clean it because sometimes cotton balls get stuck. and make sure you clean it in the inside of your nose too becuase you have to get both sides of the hole. same goes ofr turning it. keep turning it whatever chance you get and make sure you turn it from the inside as well as the outside. you might wanna turn it from the inside when you are alone though. lol. Once you can always turn it from the inside and out and it doesnt get stuck, then you can change it. but if its only been a week and you change it make sure you do it quickly, because the whole may close. and to get the inside post out if you get it done with a gun, use tweezers to get the post out. try buying one of those earrings that are especially for the nose, they are usually twisted or have a ball at the end of them so that they dont fall out. and never get anything too big. little studs always look cute. hope i helped. BeastFromTheWeast answered Thursday August 5 2004, 11:49 pm: Very little redness..no swelling. Well actually..there can be a little swelling..but that occurs on the inside of your nose where you cant see it nor tell that its there. Most piercings actually look perfectly fine after you get them done. Just make sure to keep it clean! [ BeastFromTheWeast's advice column | Ask BeastFromTheWeast A Question ]
