This may sound really stupid, I'm sure it does, but there may be a way to play with it without actually touching it. Try to teach it words or tricks through the cage. It may warm up to you sooner or later.
In the meantime, if the bite is bad enough, it may get infected. Maybe show an adult you know and trust (Aunt, Grandma, Older Cousin) that can look at it, if you are scared to tell your mom. [ oilerettes07's advice column | Ask oilerettes07 A Question ]
duckhuntrox answered Tuesday August 3 2004, 8:21 pm: you should definitely tell your mom because if you get an infection, it could be bad. maybe she will let you play with it again, but just to be on the safe side, i recomend some thick leather gloves next time. or maybe you could try again?
good luck [ duckhuntrox's advice column | Ask duckhuntrox A Question ]

Try this web site. And search online for "Macaw training" or "bird training"
I'm a Veterinary Technology major and work with many animals on a day to day basis, but birds aren't my specialty. But I remember reading a web site on Parakeet socialization that would really help you out, sadly, I can't find it right now. If you ask me personally, then I might be able to help more, when I have more time.
But, basically, making a bird trust you will take a lot of time. If your mom tells you not to touch the bird, make sure she understands that that will only make him meaner and meaner. [ selectopaque's advice column | Ask selectopaque A Question ]
o0psychicwish0o answered Tuesday August 3 2004, 7:44 pm: Well get an adult to look at your bite and if its real bad you should tell your mom. About the bird part pet her everyday and be around her alot, it should get use to you and trust and then you can play with it all the time =D
