Question Posted Saturday July 24 2004, 10:49 am

One of my friends is mad at me because she thinks i called her a slut and i didn't. I've said sorry but she wont except it. What should i do? I dont want to lose her friendship forever. We told each other everything and did a lot of things together. How can something so great be ruined by one little misunderstanding?

Well, when something like that comes around most of the time she wants to be friends with you too. If the friendship was strong before that, it wont be ruiend by a misunderstanding.Basically when it comes down to it, it's going to be her desision to save the friendship or not. And I'm sure in someway she beleives that you didn't really say it, she's just trying to stir things up maybe, see how much you care for the friendship. The only thing you can really do is DON'T STOP FIGHTING FOR IT. Continue to tell her you wouldn't ever say that, let her know how much you cherish the friendship, and tell her that there is no reason that you would call her that. Just keep fighting for it, I'm sure she'll come around... but you have to be patient about it. People can't hold grudges forever, especially if ya'll were really close.

Ask her why she thinks you would say such a thing. Basically explain to her everything you just told me. Tell her you don't want to ruin her friendship and although she doesn't believe you right now.. to please try and understand.. your really good friends and shes really important to you.. (((make sure she knows that))) I have a similar story.. one of my friends got mad at me because they thought I was saying stuff about them that wasn't true... but I explained to her that I was her friend and I would never do that to her and her friendship was important and she ended up forgetting about the whole thing. In the end getting through all this with your friend will just make your friendship stronger.. but if shes really upset.. then give her a few days to cool off.. she'll come around ;)

Hope i helped..

if you need anymore advice im me or leave one in my inbox :)

wow! i think you need to try to make it up to your friend, even though u didnt say it. apologize again, and try to take her out 2 like dinner or something. explain to her that people are starting rumors that arent true. tell her how you are feeling now that you have lost her as a friend. hopefully, she'll understand, and if she doesn't in time it will blow over.
