what is a moderator and how do you become one?

I am a moderator. Generally high rated and/or respected columnists are considered for the position. Also, there are only so many slots available for people to be moderators, and I think that right now, there are no openings.

Moderators are responsible for rating the questions, and deleting them if necessary. We can also take action against people who misuse the site (trolling, spamming, flaming members, using the site as a form of personal chat with other members, etc).
