step dads
my mom just got married,so i have a stepdad...i don't like him cause he doesnt do nothin & tells me what to do...all he does is sit in his ''spider man'' underwear & watches buffy-the-vampire...how do i try to get along with him????

Watch Buffy with him, because it's a great show, and try to get to know him better.
Maybe catch your mum at a time when she's receptive and talk to her about it.

All step-dad's take some getting used to. We all feel like they have no place to try to tell us what to because ther aren't our real fathers. Having the wrong attitude about that can start off a step-daughter/step-dad problem real quick. As far as how to get along with him, try to find something that both of you share an interest in so you will have something to talk about. Why don't you like him? Is it because you feel he try's to tell you what to do? If that is the reason then try to understand that every child needs to have chores around the house. Maybe the next time he ask's you to do something like wash the dishes...say: Let's do it together! You wash, I'll dry or vise-versa. Try to spend some time with him to get to know him better. If that doesn't seem to work & you still feel the same way about him, then at least try to continue to be on speaking terms with him. Just so it doesn't cause probelms in the house. You know what they say...If mom aint happy aint no one happy.

Well first off, this man (who is not even your real father) should not be walkign around in nothing but his underwear around you. That's just kind've odd. Second, talk to your mom. Tell her how you feel and maybe she can arrange something for the two of you. :)

Tell your mom how you feel. She needs to know if you don't feel comfy being around him. He seems lazy to me, but I don't know him so I can't really say. I would also try and talk to him. Ask him about his hobbies, what he did during the day, how he's feeling, anything!! Hope it works!! Sarah xoxo
