My room
does anyone know a way to make your room look great .. but keep it afordable.. like any furniture that i could make myself but within a budget.. also, im 14 and i dont want anything too sofsticated but i don't want it looking like a little girls room either .. also if it helps im probably painting my room darker colors like a dark red or something

furniture- dry ice but they're a bit pricey. I love those dish chairs which are Hot now a days. About 30-50 dollars fuzzy stools from colored to animal prints @ INCINGS. If you already have a chair or sofa just get some frabic or your choice and sew on slip covers or wrapp-cover it.
paint- ok try this, if you like dark red try a blooded red have some black trimmings on where your walls n ceilings meet.
Curtains- sheer coloredfrabic...just pin it to style or wrap and explore

People have already given some good ideas for finding new things to put into your room.
Don't forget that in addition to using new items - be they from yard sales or discount stores - that you can make huge differences by trying new arrangements of what you already have furniture wise. Try messing with lamps - new lamp shades can be cheap, and you could go so far as to buy plain white ones and decorate them yourself however you like. Just to be stupid, I put up a nylon net on the ceiling of my room, strung white christmas lights in it, and put various odd things up in the net - old stuffed animals from when I was little, album covers, GI Joe guys, plastic airplanes, and other assorted toys that I no longer played with. It was goofy, yet sort of cool. During college, I got a bunch of old pillows and used them as seat cushions on top of plastic milk crates that I used to hold all my books. If that's too low, you can put the crates up on wooden legs or something to give it more height (like at a desk).

Summer is here and that means lots of yard sales! You can find all kinds of neat pieces of furniture and accessories for cheap! And don't be afraid to haggle, since your younger people might be willing to sell for a lower price. I have also found some great unique accesoiress at Marshall's.
The easiest way to make a room look great is to simply get rid of the clutter. Less is more.
Love the color choice, but don't go too dark or it will make you room seem much smaller.

i can totally relate to you. my room was dull, then me and a friend re-organized it. maybe you could do a theme...i dont have any right off the bat, but i have always wanted a joe bozer theme room...lol...but anyways. butterly chairs can be bought at claires for like $15. and bean-bag chairs can be bought for $10-$20 at walmart. also, just find really cute stuff at places like claires, walmart, kmart, sears, jc penny's...places like that...they have so much cute stuff.
