Lately, my mom has been telling the most random people really personal stuff about me. For instance, I bought a thong the other day, and my mom went and told all of the people at her work. I also trusted her when I told her who I had a crush on. She told my whole entire family and a bunch of her customers at her work. She also tells people what grades I get (A's, B's, & C's), that I'm "way too thin", and all this personal stuff. I've told my mom to stop, but then it always gets worse. What should I do?
YOU GOT TO GET USED TO PARENTS TALKING ABOUT YOU THATS WHAT THEY DO. BUT I AGREE IF YOU ASKED YOUR MOM TO NOT TELL ANYBODY YOUR SECRET THAT IS WRONG. TELL HER THAT YOU DON'T WANT HER TELLING PERSONAL INFO.

She sounds like she's proud that you're growing up, and is playing the 'my kid is better than your kid' game at work. Try feeding her good things about what you're doing at school: "Hey, mom! I made a 94 on the Algebra test today!", and lay off telling her about crushes and such. [ icedragon's advice column | Ask icedragon A Question ]
