I THINK THAT IF YOUR BOY FRIEND IS SCARED OF YOUR PARENTS YOU NEED TO SIT HIM DOWN AND REMIND HIM YOU LOVE HIM VERY MUCH, AND REMIND HIM THAT YOU CAN NOT HAVE THAT SERIOUS COMMENTMENT WITHOUT HIM TALKING TO YOUR PARENTS. MAKE SURE TO TELL HIM A FEW TIMES YOU WERE SCARED. MAYBE THAT WILL MAKE HIM FEEL BETTER. BUT MAKE SURE NOT TO SHOUT OR YELL AT HIM. THAT WILL JUST MAKE THINGS WORSE.
SINCERLY: ADVICE GIVER
P.S GOOOD LUCK!!!! [ advice_giver_pimp's advice column | Ask advice_giver_pimp A Question ]
DruidX answered Sunday May 30 2004, 5:53 am: Talk to him. Find out if this is correct then maybe you can recitify it. Are your parents scary to other people you know, like mates? When you say 'commitment' do you mean marrage? This might have somthing to do with the stupid tradtion that a man must ask the father for the daughters hand in marrage, from the days when women [I hope I don't wronglly assume you are female] were objects.
Just talk to your Guy, and good luck :) [ DruidX's advice column | Ask DruidX A Question ]
ThinkPink2494 answered Sunday May 30 2004, 4:08 am: well assure him that he has no reason to be scared, and if he still wont talk to them have them talk to him, if you feel comfortable enough, tell them he wants to talk to them before having a serious relationship and i am almost positive they will think he is wonderful and then have him over and have your parents bring up the subject to him. Nevaeh answered Sunday May 30 2004, 2:43 am: OK, so...Why do you think your boyfriend is scared of your parents? Do they do something to make him be scared of them? Tell your boyfriend to relax and remind him that he's dating you....not your parent's. [ Nevaeh's advice column | Ask Nevaeh A Question ]
