Sugar

Question Posted Saturday April 24 2004, 8:23 pm

What is it called if you eat alot of sugar and it sends you on a sugar high for like 10 minutes but then you get really tired and just HAVE to lay down. When you lay down or try to rest it feels like something is holding you down so you can't get back up again. This has happened to me several times and I just don't know what to think.

Confused

It is called Hyperglycimia. My mom has it. You feel tired because of high blood sugar. You should see your doctor. He will give you some iron pills to take that will help. The bad news is, you will only be able to eat very small amounts of sugar and carbohydrate. Your doctor will probably tell you to go on the Atkins or South Beach diet.

If you feel so tired suddenly and have trouble getting up, you should see a doctor and get checked. It may not be sugar at all. You could have anemia, or low iron. It could be a lot of things. There is no way to know unless you see a doctor.
