How do you get rid of a spare tire?

Question Posted Wednesday April 14 2004, 1:22 pm

I've been married for almost 7 years and have one child who is almost 5. I'm 35, female, and I hate my body. I had a round belly when I got married, but now, in addition to that, I have this roll around my middle, and no waist. I have a hard time following strict diets that involve a lot of restrictions and strenuous exercise. I also have cellulite on my thighs, but I mostly want to get rid of the excess flab around my waist and tummy. Also, I think I might be pregnant because I've been feeling dizzy and nauseous for weeks. I've taken two tests, but they came back negative because I think I took them too early. I forgot how many weeks it's been since I stopped my birth control. I'm going to take another test in another week. Is there a diet that is safe to do during pregnancy? I know this is a lot of info, but if anybody can help me, I would really appreciate it. If I am pregnant, I'm afraid of gaining even more weight during my pregnancy. Help!

Get a personal trainer. THEN, after you've been working out with him in REGULAR appointments (when someone is waiting for you, it's hard to cancel), then you start cutting out simple things from your diet like sodas and some red meat. Drink a ton of water.

Aight. Aight. You don't have to radically change your diet. Eat healthier. At some gyms they have healthy food. Buy sugar free ice cream. Fat free food.

Fat around your stomach and waist is fat that was put on quickly and can come off just as quickly. It was caused by sugars and overeating of fast sugars like sodas and potato chips and candy. Cut soda and *most* candy (the worst i can think of right now is Snickers with all that stuff inside, not just chocolate) out of your diet at once.
Diets are all right if you want to MAINTAIN your current weight, but fat is a two part process! You have to cut down the Intake and increase the Output. Walk as much as you can. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Try simple yoga such as the Sun Salutation (available ALL OVER the internet if you just search for "sun salutation"). Don't eat fried foods; those are just begging to sit on your thighs and belly. Drink water and eat dairy products such as yogurts and milk--the calcium helps your metabolism even out and burn calories, but having ice cream would just nullify the effects, of course.
It's not about having some specific diet, it's about just having A DIET. Just keep an eye on what you are eating, and use common sense about what's healthy. As some say, if you can't pronounce most of the things on the ingredients label, it's not good for you!
Oreos, Doritos, Snickers, and Coca-Cola are bad for you!
Apples, bread, lemonade, turkey, ham and grilled salmon are good for you!
Simple.

First of all, dieting is not the answer. All dieting does is get you fatter. Your metabolism slows down because you're not eating as much, and your body doesn't want to eat your insides. So then once you eat a little more then you've restricted, your metabolism doesn't work fast enough to digest the food and it stores the excess food as fat.

Second of all, do you think it's really possible to get pregnant without gaining weight?

Third, why stop birth control pills? All that will do is get you pregnant.

Sure, well wait till next friday to take the pregnancy test lets start there. Now your looking to lose weight without diet, there are many plans for you to follow such as e-carb or slim fast. They do work with exercise and they aren't strict but there are regulations you must follow for them to work fast and properly. Now something that is not strenous would be swimming and walking. Plus if your pregnaut the swimming or water aerobic will help you stay in shape and could make the pregnancy/labor a bit easier. So Try a simple diet and swimming. From my experience I used to swim 2 miles a day=132 laps, and within 2 months I lost 35 pounds. But I was on a small diet, like light lunch and breakfast (fruits) no coke. Thats all it took. so I hope this helped and it works for you what ever you try,

You didn't say your weight and height, so I don't know if you are overweight, or just out of shape.

When you are pregnant, you are expected to gain around 20 pounds, about 7 or so for the baby, and the rest is sack, placenta, fluid in the sack, and a lot of fluid in your body itself from hormonal changes. The majority of the weight is gained at the end of the pregnancy. If you want to avoid gaining excessive weight from the pregnancy, keep the weight gain down, but don't actually diet. The baby needs the nutrition. Wait until after the baby is born to loose. If you can breast feed, that helps with some weight loss.

I think the best thing you do is talk to your doctor for advice on how much to gain and when.

If you aren't pregnant, then diet and exercise slowly. Don't try to be too restrictive. It is better to find a method that you can stick with for a long time than to try too hard and fail. <a href="[Link](Mouse over link to see full location); is a similar question. Scroll down for the answer I gave them.

For exercise, just 3 times a week for 1/2 hour doing something you like may work. You can just turn on music and jump around and dance free style. That burns fat.
