Alright, someone help me and try to tell ma few diets. I know about Atkins, I can't go on Slim fast, I need more info on low Cal, I need a way to loose from 30 - 50 pounds I'm not in a hurry so anything can be good really. Please help!
If you're looking for a low-carb diet, I think that the South Beach Diet (created by a cardiologist) is a *lot* healthier than Atkins. If you aren't, I think Weight Watchers is probably your best bet.
If you really want to burn fat, though, be sure that you combine your diet with a proper exercise regimen (regular activity that gets your heart pumping). That's probably the healthiest and the best thing you can do for yourself. [ alpha's advice column | Ask alpha A Question ]

You are allowed so many a day, so you can eat pretty much whatever you want, as long as you count the calories, and then one day a week you don't have to count. It gives you a lot more flexability then those crazy low carb diets. [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]

My friend and his family are all on the diet and it has worked really well. It's easy and really helpful. Also, while you are on the diet you should excercise too. This will help the process along quicker. Good luck hun! :) [ FallenAngel's advice column | Ask FallenAngel A Question ]

Atkins works but thats only if you use it for every meal and no snacks thats what they don't tell you. The Slim Fast diet is also extremely well but its best to used the diet if you are working out because your burn weight and then you take the shake and or snack and you really didn't put on half what you lost. Also swim you can lose 10-30 pounds in 2 months if you do it everyday about 66 laps. 66 laps equals one mile if it's a 25 meter pool.

It may take a little math sometimes to figure out servings. Get a book with a calorie list. Most diet and nutrition books have them. Keep a food diary of what you ate, otherwise you will loose track.
Measure whenever you can, because then you will be more acurate. When it comes to meats, calories are usually listed by ounces. Estimate 3 ounces is about the size of a deck of cards. If you can find one, get a little scale to check meat servings once in a while.
Keep track of your weight loss once a week, and if you loose more than 3 pounds a week increase your calorie intake by about 100 to 200 calories until you are loosing about 2 pounds a week.
Hopefully you know what good nutrition is. Eat approximately 2 servings of meat, 4 servings of vegetables, 2 fruit servings, 3 or 4 servings of grains or starches, 2 milk or dairy servings a day, and take a multi-vitamin.
It is really difficult to stay on a diet. Your life becomes all about food. I would try for around 300 to 350 calories for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and 100 to 150 calories for snacks. Eat frequently. Experiment with food, especially low calorie and diet food. Some of them are awful, but some aren't bad.
