When someone constantly says/writes things about their new boyfriend/girlfriend, is there anyway to tell that they're really just excited or if they feel insecure and just want to make people jealous?
Mongosis1 answered Sunday January 11 2004, 10:39 pm: Dear Just Wondering,
You can never be positive, but there are ways that you can make educated guesses. Most of the time, if they are simply excited, they will tell about things that have actually happened between the two of them. You can usually tell if they are trying to make others jealous if they say things comparing their boyfriend/girlfriend to other people's boyfriends/girlfriends, and if they try to make their guy or girl sound superior. Most of the time, if they are telling other people about him/her, they might not be only aiming to make people jealous, but there is usually a little bit of everyone that wants to be envied.

Dear I Wonder,
This is an odd question. Why do you care if they are trying to make you jealous or not? They are better than you, and so is their date, so get over it. Why don't you go out, snag a guy/girl off the street, and go online and pretend they are the person of your dreams. Then, when that other person comes here and asks the same question, I can save a lot of time and just copy and paste the answer into their reply box, and pretend that I care. If the person is really smiley and excited, chances are it's the first. If they're smug and snobby about it, it's def. the second. [ Turc's advice column | Ask Turc A Question ]
