christmas card envelopes
Can I get sick from licking all the envelopes from my christmas cards to seal them? I know I could use a sponge and all that but that's just not as fun... I feel like licking them gives a more personal touch. Is all that glue going to get into my system and give me some horrible disease?

if you lick too many, yeah... but if its not like 100 lol, then youre okay! i read this thing tho.. that some weird ppl now are licking envelopes to get high, and that it can kill u... but like theyll sit there ALL DAY and lick like 1000s of envelopes, so yeah... but dont worry about it!!

Please be careful not to get a paper cut on your tongue. I think that is the only real hazard.

ok people alwayslick envelopes. obviously if their made for licking then you wont get a disease if you were to by now it wud be all over the news and they wud already have a cure for it..dear child i fear for you in the real world

Dear Christmas card envelopes, You can't get sick from licking envelopes. if the glue was unsafe the company wouldn't of put in on the envelopes.
And trust me every Christmas i lick about a billion cards and I never get sick. And it's true licking them does give a personal touch. Try licking an envlope trust me you won't get a disease. SmartSarah

No, to both. Licking it will not give you any disease. And no, it doesn't really give it a more personal touch except to the one doing all of the licking. Hell, ask me to tell if it was licked or wet with a sponge and I'm at a complete loss. Not only that, I'd look at you as if to say, " Why the hell would I care?" as I'm sure most others would. Hey, get them out whichever way feels most comfortable and less imposing to you.

No disease, and it probably won't kill you... however it may make you nauseous and light headed and all that good stuff, so if I was you... drink lots of water to get the glue flowing out and diluted and take breaks now and then... you should be good to "personalize" with your saliva!

lol! No way! If they did the people from the envelope comany would have been sewed by now. And licking doesnt give a personal touch either. When people get their letters they dont look at how you sealed they look at the card! So try the sponge, but if you really do like to seal with your tounge just have a soda or juice handy!
